Grand Opening of Social Status by Flava Factory
Maybach Music Group rapper Wale, whom you might have seen performing last night on the BET Hip-Hop Awards, hosts the grand opening of this new, hip clothing and sneaker boutique. This is the second location for the boutique, with the first, simply called Social Status, being in Pittsburgh. The Ivey’s Second Annual After-Hours Auction
Support Alzheimer’s patients at this silent auction that will offer artwork, handmade quilts, jewelry, hand-blown glass, gift certificates, and more. Free chair messages will be available from Day Break Massage, and light refreshments will be served. Proceeds will benefit The Ivey, a not-for-profit adult day care center that provides daytime services for people living with Alzheimer’s, and the Alzheimer’s Association. 6-8 p.m. The Ivey, 6030 Park South Dr., theivey.com.
Third Annual Three Olive's Martini Fest
Local restaurants and bars will be mixing up their signature drinks. Ticket includes martini tastings and food, from Buckhead Saloon, Town Tavern, Mez, Loft 1523, Bar Charlotte, Suite, Phoenix, and more. Music by a Red Bull DJ. 6-10 p.m. $20. Butter Thursday—Race Week Industry Event
The Bank of America 500 race is in town this weekend and Butter is celebrating (NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin is an ownership partner, by the way). The event will be hosted by Greg Fornelli, Andrew Feit, Pat Wood, Chris Stuart, and Austin Peyton. Music by three deejays: DJ Ahuff, DJ Ciprian, and DJ Edouard. Drink specials include $5 cosmos, $3 domestic beers, $4 apple sauce shots, $5 vodka drinks, and $100 vodka bottles. 10 p.m. Cost varies. J. Cole Concert After-Party
After Fayetteville-native and Roc Nation star J. Cole performs in concert at The Fillmore Charlotte, he’ll host an after-party at Lux. Cole’s debut album was number one in the country last week, and he wants to celebrate with his North Carolina folks. 10 p.m. Cost varies; $1 with college ID until 11:30 p.m. VIP available.
