Weekend Ahead: September 26-28
DRINK
Ring in the fall with Charlotte’s version of Munich’s famous Oktoberfest. With samples from more than 300 beers and bands like Sons of Ralph and Polka Dots, it’s no surprise that the festival, which goes from 2 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Memorial Stadium, has actually already sold out. If you can track down a ticket, there’s more information online at www.charlotteoktoberfest.com.
LOOK GOOD
Clinton Kelly is hosting a fashion show at Macy’s at SouthPark mall, commenting on how to dress yourself this fall. He’ll be undoubtedly drawing from his new book Freakin’ Fabulous: How to Dress, Behave, Speak, Drink, Ea, Entertain, Decorate and Generally be Better Than Everyone Else. And obviously we’re always looking for tips on that! The event is free and is at 1 p.m. To RSVP, call 704.364.5110.
CRAWL
Head south of the city for the second annual Ballantyne bar crawl. It starts at 8 p.m. and hits spots like On the Roxx, Fifty 1, and Jade Asian Fusion. Or, catch the party bus from Loft 1523 where registration begins at 6:30. Tickets are $10. Check out www.bandtastic.com for details.
LAUGH
The Bob & Tom Comedy All Stars tour brings nationally known comics to town including Bob Zany, Drew Hastings, Greg Warren, and Chick McGee. Tickets are $31.50 and the event is at 7:30 p.m. at Ovens Auditorium. Check out www.ovensauditorium.com or Ticketmaster for more info.
