Original Pancake House
Short takes on new, newish, and notable restaurants

Original Pancake House
Since Anderson’s closed, Charlotte’s power brokers (and those who wish to be) have been casting about for a suitable spot to talk business and politics over pancakes and coffee. The new location of the Original Pancake House just might fill the bill. The OPH left its South End spot for new Midtown digs. The new building is roomy, convenient to the uptown towers of power, and the pancakes are as good as ever. The only drawback? Noise. Concrete floors, big windows, and exposed-ductwork ceilings won’t do much to dampen the sounds of wheeling and dealing.
