Drink A Negroni, Donate to Charity
It's Negroni Week.

Negroni Week started on Monday, and 20 bars in the Charlotte area are participating in Imbibe Magazine's fundraiser this year. Not familiar with the classic cocktail? It's a slightly bitter drink, made most often with gin, an amaro (such as Campari), and sweet vermouth. It's long been known as a bartender's drink, but has become more mainstream lately. Order one this week at a participating bar or restaurant, and a dollar of your sales will go charity.
While there’s been some chatter that weeks such as this are simply marketing ploys, we're OK with it when it benefits charities—the editors here at Charlotte magazine are known to enjoy a negroni a few times a week, anyway. Here’s a sampling of what mixologists around town are stirring around town; Negroni Week officially ends on June 11.
