Easter Brunches in Charlotte

Making plans for Easter Sunday? See what restaurants are doing something special

Easter Sunday is coming up on April 5. Don’t feel like cooking? Don’t bother. Here are a few Charlotte restaurants that will make skipping out on a baked ham easier with special Easter Sunday menus.

Head to Blue if you want your plate to resemble a combination you’d make for a family Easter at home. A carving station with a spiral ham headlines the buffet with chicken salad, potatoes au gratin, shrimp and grits, green bean casserole, and more, as well as a dessert bar. Live jazz will play as you eat. Tickets are $39.95; $14.95 for ages six to 12, children five and under free. Blue Restaurant and Bar, 206 N. College St., 704-927-2583, bluecharlotte.com

Even the Easter bunny will be at The Ballantyne Hotel for brunch. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., buffet tables will be adorned with usual breakfast items like omelets and pastries. But they’ll also have three carving stations as well as features like hoisin glazed roasted chicken, mac and cheese, salmon cakes, salads, and desserts for $75 per adult. Ages five to 12 will cost $35; children four and under free. Reservations required. Gallery Restaurant at The Ballantyne Hotel, 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., 704-248-4100, theballantynehotel.com

This Plaza Midwood staple will serve its usual Sunday buffet, but an extended menu will also be on the table. Dishes will include lamb chops, roasted Scottish salmon, Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, sausage and gravy biscuits, and breakfast pastries. 1322 Central Ave., 704-333-4646, bistrolabon.com

All of Heirloom’s usual brunch favorites—like popovers and gravy and poached eggs—will be on the menu. Diners will also be treated to an additional three-course tasting menu, including an appetizer, breakfast entrée, and dessert item. What will those courses be? You’ll have to wait and see what the farmers deliver. Heirloom Restaurant, 8470 Bellhaven Blvd., 704-595-7710, heirloomrestaurantnc.com
