Friday's Find: Polaroids by Cary

I just love the look of the Polaroid transfer images that are created by Cary from By Cary. I stumbled across Cary’s Etsy.com shop through another friend’s blog and immediately contacted her for more info.

Here’s how it works: you give Cary an image (digital images need to be at least 300 dpi) and she turns them into slides, transfers the slide image onto Polaroid film (these were created with Polaroid Type 669 from 1963!) with a special printer, and then scans the new image and prints it on archival paper. Final product: the coolest-looking-perfectly-worn-looks-like-it’s-vintage images.

Cary’s used the process to create custom save-the-date coasters, magnets, cards, and invitations. Her Etsy shop, here, is where you can see most of her work and designs. All you need is to send her the image, Cary creatively takes care of the rest.
