SheaNichole Designs creates custom sashes, bridal accessories, ring bearer pillows, and more.

For brides looking to add a special custom detail and even collaborate with a designer to do so, Charlotte bridal accessory designer Shea Walker (she’s also the manager of E.G. Couture) is someone you should meet. Her line of bridal accessories, SheaNichole Designs, includes bridal sashes, wraps and shawls, bridesmaid sashes, groomsmen ties, pocket squares, and custom-made ring pillows. She works with dupioni and shantung silk, satin, charmeuse, and taffeta and sources fabrics from each gown and bridal designers for a seamless match.

Walker has hand-sewn lace from a mother of the bride’s wedding gown to a custom sash, used gorgeous and delicate brooches and satin ribbons to create bridesmaids belts with rhinestone buckles and handmade flowers. For the fellas, she’s happy to collaborate to create traditional ties and pocket squares in colors and fabrics to coordinate with your wedding colors. (Charlotte bride Suzi Hutchinson had Walker create a bow tie coordinating with the groom’s and groomsmen’s ties for her Yorkshire Terrier, Billy!)

You’ll start the process with a preliminary consultation with Walker to discuss options, fabrics, colors, trims, and appliques before she pulls samples, fabrics, and swatches together for you before she gets to work. Design and creation of accessories typically takes about twelve weeks as Walker sews and produces each item by hand.

Bridesmaids sashes start at $55, bridal sashes begin at $75, groomsmen ties are $45 and pocket squares are usually anywhere from $8 to $12 each. Price depends on fabrics, details (embellished bridal sashes can run closer to $150), and level of custom design.
