Sip & Stroll at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

LOGAN CYRUS

ON AUGUST NIGHTS, we walk, compelled to waste not another minute of the last long days before school, of the last warm nights before fall, of the last of summer’s freedoms. Few places are better for a stroll than Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, which glows in August with golden yellows, warm purples, and touches of pink. Expect Golden Raintree and Spider Lilies, swamp sunflowers and asters, says Director of Horticulture Peter Grimaldi. Come on Thursday evenings for Sip & Stroll, a weekly event where you can purchase wine and listen to music. And walk, of course, until the sun goes down. Sip & Stroll: Every Thursday in August, 5 to 9 p.m. Free for Garden members, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors, $6.95 for ages 2 through 12; kids under 2 free. 6500 S. New Hope Rd., Belmont. 704-825-4490.
