A family-owned jewelery shop makes a splash in the South
Chris Edwards
James Avery’s SouthPark shop will offer sterling silver jewelry like these quartz earrings ($279).

SouthPark mall is getting a taste of Texas. James Avery, the faith-based, family-owned jewelry retailer began in 1954 with humble roots: one man in his mother-in-law’s Kerrville, Texas garage. Now, the company, which handcrafts earrings, rings, bracelets, and charms in 14-karat gold, gemstones and sterling silver, has grown into a sixty-three-store operation that is gradually spreading across the South. Come see what’s in store on October 5, when James Avery makes its formal debut. jamesavery.com
