What to do this weekend: holiday edition
Looking for fun holiday plans for you and your future hubby? Here’s what’s going on in the QC.
Head out to Charlotte Motor Speedway to view more than 3 million lights along a 3.5-mile course. The speedway’s village features a petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides, Santa and more. Stay a little longer to watch “A Christmas Story” on a 16,000-square-foot high definition TV.
6 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31 (closed Dec. 25)
$25 per car
Take a trip with Clara and view more than 100 dancers with music by the Charlotte Symphony, complete with snowfall, during Blumenthal’s performance of the Christmas classic at Belk Theatre.
2 and 7 p.m
Carriage Ridges at Billy Graham Library
Experience the magic of Christmas with a ride around the Billy Graham Library grounds on a horse-drawn carriage. Tickets can be purchased in the library parking lot. Rides last around 15 minutes, and carriages seat four adults comfortably.
5 to 10 p.m. (Last ride at 9:45 p.m.)
Holiday on Ice
Head uptown for a night skating on North Carolina’s only outdoor ice skating rink in the heart of Charlotte. Santa Claus will make an appearance from 1 to 4 p.m.
