Welcome to Dusk Till Dawn

A new blog to help you navigate Charlotte's nightlife scene

Published:

Charlotte's nightlife scene has come a long way over the last two or three years. There are more bars, nightclubs, and lounges than ever—thanks primarily to two large entertainment complexes in uptown, South End's rebirth as a nightlife district, Plaza Midwood's ascension as a bar-hopping destination, and the resurgence of neighborhood joints in suburbs all around the city.

Despite this growth, it's still not easy to decide where you want to go for drinks after work or where to take out-of-town visitors who want to go clubbing in Charlotte on a Saturday night. This new nightlife blog will guide you. Dusk Till Dawn will keep you informed on everything from social mixers taking place at 5 p.m. to late-night events that will help you keep the party going. We'll also preview new bars and nightclubs when they open, and spotlight the people who keep the scene popping.

If you don't get out often, we want to make sure you enjoy yourself when you do. How many times have you been attracted by a fancy flyer only to find that the venue is not at all what you thought it would be? Gone to parties and realized you're the oldest person there? Or the youngest? Fellas: tired of going to clubs where the only attractive women there are the bartenders? Ladies: sick of trying to enjoy a night out at a bar with your girls only to constantly fend off creeps hitting on you? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, make sure you bookmark Dusk Till Dawn and check back often.

About Jared

Jared Misner is from Florida, but it wasn't Southern enough for him to stay. He left the Sunshine State and land of endless summer in 2012 for our little city where the tea is always sweet and the people are even sweeter. Have something you want featured in the Dusk Till Dawn blog? Send Jared an email at DuskTillDawnblog@gmail.com, or send him a tweet @Jared_Misner

About Jarvis

You may have seen Jarvis Holliday’s byline in Charlotte magazine and other publications, maybe on a story in which he’s interviewed a prominent official or written about a serious issue. Well, not here. He’s taking the night off because you should as well (and maybe the next morning, too). Follow him on Twitter @HollidayInk; email him at jarvish@grownpeopletalking.com.
