Salud Beer Shop introducing “Reggae Brunch” beginning this Sunday


Salud Beer Shop and Fud at Salud will host a "Reggae Brunch" on Sundays, beginning this week

Sundays just got a little better thanks to Salud Beer Shop’s latest venture.

Fud at Salud, which opened a couple months ago, will host “Reggae Brunch” beginning this Sunday and every Sunday thereafter. From noon until 7 p.m., you can get what’s being billed as “island-inspired brunch eats,” along with other items on Fud’s menu (seriously, if you haven’t had a waffle-wich there, you’re truly missing out).

Of course, the craft beer will be flowing next door at Salud, and also look for beer cocktails to go along with the menu. For the Reggae Brunch debut, Salud will feature Bloody Sculpin, which is a combination of a Bloody Mary and Ballast Point’s Sculpin IPA. The Bloody Sculpin also features fresh pickled vegetables with an olive-brined rim thick with celery salt and Old Bay seasoning. And you can’t have a reggae brunch with some, well, reggae, as DJ J Overcash will be spinning your favorite rasta tunes.

In other Salud news, today beginning at 2:30 p.m. you can meet the head brewer from Goose Island as part of the brewery’s “Migration Series,” where Bourbon County Barleywine will be on tap and there will also be a few special bottles for sale.

And on Saturday, look for Salud to debut a couple of its own beers at Fonta Flora’s State of Origin festival in Morganton. Tickets for the festival are still on sale, and, as Daniel Hartis at writes, there’s also a Charlotte shuttle package for those not wanting to make the drive.
