Tanesha Manigo and Marc Brown caught each others’ eyes from across a crowded room. A year later, the education specialist from New York and police officer from Charleston chose a fall morning for their blue-and-orange wedding.
The bride’s dress, Galina Signature, was vintage style from David’s Bridal. Her bouquet of orange and white calla lilies from New Creations Flower Company complemented her bridesmaids’ gifts—orange handmade purses crocheted by the bride herself.
This creative bride also hand stitched the wedding programs and crocheted her own orange-and-lace garter. Tomas Doncker played acoustic versions of gospel songs for the procession and ceremony, and Tanesha entered under a shower of flower petals from the upper balcony. Heather Gear of The Graceful Host helped the couple plan their reception at CenterStage @ NoDa, choosing orange-and-navy tables decorated with manzanita centerpieces, each studded with orange chrysanthemums and lit by shimmering golden votives.
A brunch catered by La-Tea-Da’s Catering made it easy for bride and groom to have what they both wanted: waffles and shrimp and grits. Before departing in a vintage Rolls Royce, the two cut their stunning and decadent vanilla and chocolate mosaic cake (also orange), made by Awestruck Cake.
