3 Best Bets to Celebrate Fourth of July in Charlotte
BREAK OUT YOUR patriotic clothing, grab a flag, and head outside this month for Fourth of July festivities. In honor of America’s birthday, here’s a list of the best bets around the city.
Active, inactive, or retired military members can redeem free admission to the park with a valid military I.D. At 10 p.m. on July 4, watch the fireworks show from anywhere in the park.
U.S. National Whitewater Center
July 3 and 4
A two-day extravaganza includes yoga, live music, and a climbing competition. Be sure to bring blankets and chairs to watch the fireworks over the man-made river. Parking is $5, but otherwise it’s free to attend. VIP tickets for a catered meal, cash bar, and a view from a private terrace are $45 each.
The region’s largest fireworks display launches at the conclusion of the Charlotte Knights game. If you don’t have a seat in the ballpark, bring a blanket and claim a spot in Romare Bearden Park just across the street. A festival that includes food trucks, face painting, and balloon animals will run from 3 to 9 p.m. on Mint Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
