Camden Commons Is Back in South End: What to Know
In Partnership with Charlotte Center City Partners

South End’s massive neighborhood block party, Camden Commons, returns on May 25, June 29, and July 27 this year. During each edition, Camden Road is closed to vehicular traffic from Tremont Avenue to East/West Boulevard. These family-friendly and free Sunday outings feature local shopping and eats, games and activations, photo-ops throughout, “hang out zones,” and a few surprises debuting this year. And for the July 27 edition, Camden Commons will take place between 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with free fans for the first 1,000 attendees.
Local businesses are behind a few of the activations, including an adorable Dog Zone created with Pet Wants. For the first time, all of the Camden Commons events this year have a biergarten, with July’s version presented by Resident Culture and Wooden Robot Brewery. You’ll also find old favorites among the larger-than-life games, including chess and Connect Four. Meanwhile, a live DJ brings the tunes throughout the day on Camden Road.
You’ll find South End’s established restaurants and shops to enjoy—along with 30+ vendors along the route just for Camden Commons’ festivities. Pop-ups in July include bakeries, jewelers, textile artists, and much, much more. In particular, the July edition features local businesses like Sagrada Michelada, KIKI, Morelia Gourmet Paletas, Ginger Sapp Jewelry, Robusta Coffee, Wheatberry Bakeshop, and SoSo Brand.  Vendors and activities rotate throughout this year’s three Camden Commons events, so you’ll find something new each time you attend.
Whether you’re a fan of friendly competition or prefer to unwind with a drink in hand, Camden Commons offers something for everyone. Spend the day exploring favorite and novel retail, enjoying local eats, and creating memories exactly how you want to with your friends and family.
