A Recap of Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend

Foodies and wine connoisseurs got their fill of culinary bliss over the last four days at Charlotte Wine & Food weekend. CWFD included a series of restaurant dinners, wine seminars, and a Grand Tasting at the Atrium at Two Wells Fargo Atrium Center on Friday night, where guests had access to 20 wine tables, a few select breweries, and food from the following restaurants:
Bulla Gastrobar
Corkbuzz Restaurant & Wine Bar

Fin & Fino
Hawkers Asian Street Fare
Mimosa Grill
ROOTS Café
Stoke
Sweet Lew’s BBQ
Swirl
Upstream
WP Kitchen + Bar
Zinicola
Attendees got to mingle with sommeliers and chefs, and bid on auction items that included wine lots, dining experiences, and travel packages. Proceeds from the evening benefitted five child-focused charities in Charlotte.
Each guest got a mobile bidder number, a wristband, and a wine tasting glass to sample everything and anything they wished. With over 100 wines to sample and pair with a mix of cuisines, the evening offered a little bit of everything—savory, sweet, meat-based, vegetarian—and the promise of a food coma on Saturday morning. But occasions like this call for a little indulgence, and the pork belly donut from Stoke was culinary nirvana. Here are a few more delicious highlights from the Grand Tasting (and you can read more about the activities here):
