Adults Only

Puppetry isn't always for children, as proved in Avenue Q. The smash Broadway hit comes to town this month telling the tale of Princeton, a naive young college grad who makes his way to the Big Apple with a few bucks and big dreams. He lands himself right on Avenue Q with quite the assortment of neighbors.

Avenue Q blurs the lines between puppetry and acting. "You're working with this object that can't make expressions until you do it for them," says Jennie Kwan, a three-year Q veteran cast member. "These puppets are telling a story that all of us have gone through, and to be able to do it with a puppet is pretty great."

July 22-27, Belk Theater
