This month, twenty-seven-year-old Emily Simpson will embark on a trip that will take her around the world. Simpson will travel to eleven countries, from Australia to Romania, across four continents in just eleven months as part of the World Race, a worldwide mission trip. The impressive — and exhausting — itinerary includes visiting remote villages in Kenya and Uganda to feed orphans and teach English. While in Thailand, Simpson — who quit her interior designer gig to join World Race — will counsel women and children once victims of human trafficking. "I’ll need to bring with me all of the camping necessities for a vagabond lifestyle," says Simpson, who raised funds from friends and family to cover the trip’s expenses. During her journey, the Charlottean will carry with her just one small tent, one backpack ("That will be my home and closet for the year"), and, we’re guessing, a whole lot of faith.
