Networking Happy Hour to Support Charlotte Knights
Engage Charlotte and Business Leaders of Charlotte (BLOC) are hosting a networking event to build support for the Charlotte Knights making their move from Fort Mill to uptown. Charlotte Center City Partners will have their baseball street team on hand, and you’ll have a chance to sign your name on the 12-foot “Babe” baseball inflatable. 5-7:30 p.m. $5. Mix at Six (new weekly event)
The popular, weekly suburban after-work event has returned for another season, kicking of this week and running each Wednesday through May 30. Live music by Vanilla Cornbread (a white R&B and soul band, hence the name). And prizes will be raffled away. 6-9 p.m. Free. Blondes vs. Brunettes Player Auction
The McDevitt Agency, the hip real estate firm that brings you the bimonthly Project Tuesday event, is partnering with Blondes vs. Brunettes for a fun evening to benefit The Alzheimer’s Association. Pop Life (weekly event)
It’s the biggest nightclub party in uptown on a Wednesday night. Alive After Five (weekly event)
It’s the final week at this location, before moving to the EpiCentre next week through September. This Thursday’s live entertainment provided by Led Zeppelin cover band Zoso, and there will be plenty of drink stations. Official after-parties are at the EpiCentre. 5-9 p.m. Free. Panthers NFL Draft Party
Come out to support the home team and see who the Carolina Panthers select with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. The draft, which is being televised by ESPN, will be shown on several large LED screens inside and outside of the stadium. Panthers players will be present to interact with fans and sign autographs. Fans will also have access to behind-the-scenes areas of the stadium including tours of the Panthers locker room. It’s one of Charlotte’s longest-running monthly social events, held at a different, trendy bar or lounge each time. Put on by the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, a well-dressed crowd (hence the cufflinks in the name) of young professionals mix and mingle. 6-10 p.m. Free.
