Charlotte’s DaBaby has had a big year. He was an XXL Freshman. His album topped the U.S. Billboard 200, and the Dreamville compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III, featuring the artist, was just nominated for a Grammy. He’s even appearing on Saturday Night Live on December 7.
National publications have called DaBaby’s success a “meteoric rise,” but his catalogue extends back a few years. Let’s look back at 2015, when he was calling himself “Baby Jesus” (before a 2017 rebrand as DaBaby that included wearing a diaper at a South By Southwest in Austin as a publicity stunt). It was during December of that year that the then-23-year-old DaBaby unleashed a Carolina Panthers theme titled “Dab City.” Bask in its glory below:
