Lynn Macvaugh was a recently divorced mother of two looking to start her own business, when an inheritance sparked an “aha moment.” “I was looking for inspiration anywhere I could,” she says. “I have been a glass collector for years, and when my aunt passed away, I received a beautiful glass lamp that was hers.” Macvaugh began sketching designs, met with glass blowers, and started her company, Vivify Lighting, at the kitchen table of her Charlotte home. Known for vibrant designs, Macvaugh customizes the color of the glass, the shape of the base, and the hardware to work with modern or formal decor.
