Charity of the Day: YMCA's Empowering Seniors

The YMCA's United Way grant for Empowering Seniors has endured a signicant cut. This cut will affect subsidy for over 250 seniors who reside in areas where the highest density of poverty exists. Seniors face unprecedented challenges with major healthcare needs, inactivity, isolation, and limited access to resources for prevention. The services and programs provided by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte enhance the health, nutritional, social, and physical well-being for seniors and improve their overall quality of life. —Rachel Clapp, WCNC

$10 provides arts and crafts and fellowship for twenty seniors
$25 provides transportation for 15 seniors for a month
$50 provides basic health screenings and medical referrals for 10 seniors
