Charlottean Ric Flair Praises Colts Safety’s Impression (Plus: The Weekday Roundup)

Ric Flair, the WWE legend who also goes by “The Nature Boy,” said he received death threats for giving a pep talk to the San Francisco 49ers last year. In his latest show of support for another NFL team, reactions seem to be a bit more lighthearted. In a video on ESPN.com today, Flair applauds Indianapolis Colts player Sergio Brown’s emulation of the wrestler’s classic taunts.

“When I first heard about Sergio Brown doing an impression of the Nature Boy, I had to see it to believe it,” Flair says in the video, which supplemented his show of support with archival footage. “But Sergio, brother, you are the man. I’ve seen a lot guys try that stuff and not pull it off.”

Flair goes on to wish the Colts luck in their game against the New England Patriots. “I wish you good luck on Sunday,” Flair says. “And remember, it’s two claps, for the Ric Flair. And a whoo for the Indianapolis Colts. Good luck Sunday.” Several “whoos” followed.

BLACK VIOLIN
Whether you call it “classical” or “hip-hop,” or even “rock” or “soul,” the kineticism of Black Violin is undeniable. The duo has performed with Kanye West, Aerosmith, P. Diddy, and several more high-profile pop acts. But the phrase “classically trained” is always apparent.

BONUS PICK:
GIRLS, GUNS & GLORY
In 2014, Rolling Stone named this band as one of the 10 Artists You Need to Know. The Americana group hails from Boston, and this year’s Good Luck was cited as one of the reasons for the magazine’s honor. Sarah Borges joins the line-up for this show.
