Christy Robb, a church children’s director for Uptown Church, and Joe Talamo, director of patient transportation at Novant Health, are both deeply committed to their faith. “Our top priority was the wedding ceremony. We waited for so long for each other, we wanted to honor the Lord for that,” says Christy. With readings by the bride’s theology professor and a charge delivered by a friend and pastor, the ceremony also included a doxology interspersed with music by singer Grace Marie Ward, as well as a song called “First Love,” commissioned and performed by Nashville artist Ivory Layne. The beaming bride laughed and chatted with the couple’s pastor, Dave Kulp, throughout the ceremony.
Best Impressions Caterers and Springvine Design adorned the bright and sunny Design Center Atrium with navy linens, glowing mercury glass, tiers of hydrangea in glass cylinders, and tiny nosegays of coral and pink roses. The bride’s friend Melissa Danforth created the elegant vanilla and buttercream cake, the highlight of the dessert reception, while Best Impressions presented a dazzling array of sweets, from fruit dipped in chocolate ganache to a salted caramel macchiato trifle. In a veil of bubbles, the Talamos left in a classic Mercedes for a honeymoon in Paris.
