Congrats to reader Megan, who won the fragrance for her thoughtful suggestion below! Thanks to everyone who participated. (Didn’t win this time? Stay tuned for our next contest, which starts this Friday.)
So the obvious choice would be Capitol or Neiman Marcus right? I am going out on a limb here and say that I highly doubt that Ms. Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis would be doing her own shopping. But if she did I bet she would choose somewhere else. I do agree that this place must be elegant and sophisticated. This store must show off her style and grace. I am wondering where she could go to find her matching hat, purse, shoes, and pea-coat….where she could go for oversized glasses and elegant evening wear…. Most importantly, I believe Ms. Jackie O would go somewhere private. She was a very shy, woman that protected the privacy of her children. She loved the quiet life of reading and being an editor. She loved photography and art. But most of all she loved her children. She would go to The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. It is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and raising money for their Healthy Child Initiative. Started in 1936 as a thrift store, the Junior League Wear house has consignments of only name brand, good condition, fashionable clothes. Each week the wear house receives donations all with the purpose of helping providing those in need in the Charlotte Community. Ms. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was that kind of women. She was a women who loved fashion, but more importantly her community and children.
