Dave Chappelle Performs Pop-Up Show at Fillmore

UPDATE: A second show has been added. Follow the link below for tickets.

Dave Chappelle’s show at Ovens Auditorium may have included honed bits from his act, but there were also surprises. During his set, the comedian announced a pop-up show at the Fillmore, taking place Tuesday night. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. and will be available here. The seated set is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Fillmore show runs $55 before fees, with $71.09 being the total amount. (Monday’s Ovens Auditorium show was set at $53.00 before fees, totaling $70.82, for the 2,455-capacity venue.) The Fillmore is known as a rock venue, but the space has hosted plenty of comedians in past years. Anthony Jeselnik and Demetri Martin are among the recent acts to visit, and a June show from Tracy Morgan was canceled due to the comedian’s car accident.

Chappelle returned to stand-up last year, after an apparent hiatus. His recent appearances on the late show circuit also mark a return to the public eye. Chappelle recounts his first meeting with Kanye West in this clip from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:

The Fillmore announcement came as a surprise to the Twitter crowd last night. Here are some reactions:
