Ellen DeGeneres Gives Two Local College Kids $50,000

One student goes to Winthrop, the other attends The Art Institute of Charlotte

Attention college students: If you watch enough daytime television, it may pay off.

Abby Gervais, a student at The Art Institute of Charlotte, and Morgan Lowers, a student at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, won $25,000 each yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. To make it onstage, they had to submit information about their school, their family life, and why they are Ellen's biggest college-age fans. Then they competed in a quiz game called "Know or Go to College." See the video for more details—be prepared for lots of screaming.
