GO CLT Launches Thursday for Young Professionals

The Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee is rolling out a new initiative to get young professionals involved. GO CLT launches this Thursday, April 12, with a kickoff celebration at Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub (formerly Buckhead Saloon), 201 E. Fifth Street in uptown.

GO CLT is a nonpartisan network of young Charlotte professionals uniting to make an impact, volunteer, and raise funds to support Charlotte as it prepares to host the Democratic National Convention. “By coming together, our generation of future leaders can ensure that this convention is more than just a political event and that—long after the balloons have dropped—it will have a lasting and positive impact on our city and region,” reads the organization’s description.

Thursday’s event at Fitzgerald's goes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Mayor Anthony Foxx is among the officials who’ll be present to discuss how you can get involved. Food and drink specials will be served. Click here to register to attend this free event. And you can become a fan of the organization on Facebook at facebook.com/GOCLT.
