HAMILTON on Schedule for Blumenthal's 2017-18 Season

EARLIER THIS YEAR, Charlotte magazine was the first to report that a national tour of Hamilton will stop by Charlotte in the future. Today, we know that the show is part of the 2017-2018 PNC Broadway Lights season. Though Blumenthal Performing Arts has not released the exact dates and times, it advises that subscribing to the upcoming 2016-2017 season "is the best way to guarantee great seats to all of the shows this season and to be able to retain those great seats in future seasons."

The show, which follows the life of Alexander Hamilton as a hip-hop musical, has been a massive success in box office sales and critical reaction, having been sold out for most of its Broadway run. The show was conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda after reading a a 2005 biography of Hamilton written by Ron Chernow. Its Off-Broadway run garnered the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical and seven others from the revered Drama Desk organization. It debuted on Broadway last year. It's currently nominated for 16 Tony Awards, with the ceremony to be held June 12.
