Helen Adams Realty’s new standalone office in Fort Mill is now open—an expansion that reflects both the 48-year-old company’s own growth and the community it inhabits. The building, designed by Progressive AE and built by Leitner Construction, is located at 431 Mercantile Pl., inside the Springfield Town Center mixed-use development. Helen Adams Realty opened its prior Fort Mill office in late 2018, and it broke ground on its new space in August 2022.

Among the new office’s features: two conference rooms, comfortable seating areas, a large, open workspace with lofted ceilings, and private workspaces.  The outdoor area, complete with temperature control, is located off the full-service kitchen, allowing the space to be used for events and meetings year-round. “It is an exciting time to be part of Helen Adams Realty as the company expands into a beautifully designed permanent office location here in Fort Mill,” said Geri Mullinix, Fort Mill Broker-In-Charge, in a statement. “This is a reflection of how the company continues to invest in the success of our agents, and into a deep relationship with our community. Being at the center of the expansion since day one, it has been rewarding to see how far we’ve come.”

During those five years since Helen Adams Realty entered the Fort Mill market, the company’s growth there has been extraordinary. Sales have gone from zero to $163 million in closed sales volume in that time—with an average sales volume of $5 million per agent. Thirty-two agents serve the area, and the space can accommodate double that amount as growth continues. Agent expansion remains  organic, with trusted professionals in the region joining after witnessing Helen Adams Realty’s success in Fort Mill. Overall, Helen Adams Realty has a campus-style approach to its multiple locations, with agents having the ability to work at any of its four office locations that supports their and client’s needs. The company’s other offices are located in Ballantyne, Lake Norman, and on Randolph Road near uptown. “After opening this office in 2018, we realized that the agent population here was searching for a local, family office atmosphere that could also provide the tech, marketing, and support they needed,” added Rebecca Adams Starrs, Chief Marketing Officer. “That’s our sweet spot: a strong combination of culture and support. It’s been humbling and exciting to attract the high-caliber agents that have joined us as partners.”

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the Fort Mill space was held on Sept. 19.

Just over the state line along I-77, Fort Mill is one of the fastest growing parts of York County, S.C. Over the past dozen years, the town’s population has tripled. Further, Fort Mill’s owner-occupied housing rate is 83%, with an average list price of homes for sale of $502,000. As Frank Adams, managing director of sales and affiliated businesses at Helen Adams Realty, told Charlotte Business Journal last year: “It was really validating … to see how much traction we’ve gained in that marketplace, the conviction in the agents to join us and for their clients to work with our agents. We’re all in.”
