When Lindsay Robinson said "Yes!" to Blake Stanley’s proposal in April 2008, they knew that Charlotte was the perfect place to host their impending nuptials. The Queen City became home to both of them after they met in 2006, but neither Lindsay, twenty-six, nor Blake, twenty-seven (both pharmaceutical reps), hail from Charlotte, so they teamed up with Weddings and the City to help plan their big day.
On May 30 at 6 p.m., Lindsay — in a strapless Kenneth Pool gown and carrying a bouquet of white peonies and green cymbidium orchids wrapped with lace from her mother’s wedding veil — walked down the aisle to meet her groom. After saying "I do," the couple made their way back up the aisle to the festive sound of bagpipes.
At the reception at Wachovia’s The Atrium Uptown, the newlyweds shared their first dance to James Taylor’s "How Sweet It Is," then joined their guests for a dinner of tender filet and crab cakes by Best Impressions Caterers. After dinner, guests got their sugar fix from almond and chocolate wedding cake from Cakes by Carol and an ice cream sundae station featuring the bride and groom’s favorite flavors, mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream.
