Wedding date: October 11, 2014
Their meet-cute: As athletes from the same area of Virginia, they always knew of each other through sports (he was the basketball star; she was the track girl). But they didn’t meet until they both ended up in Charlotte a few years after graduating from college. “To this day we laugh about this,” Breeze says. “I told him that night he was going to be my boyfriend.”
The proposal: Montel popped the question in Chicago, one of their favorite cities, while the two were walking along the shoreline.
Engagement shoot location: Romare Bearden Park, Fourth Ward, and a few other spots throughout uptown.
What makes it great: “Breeze and Montel are full of energy and have a classic, sophisticated, yet fresh and relaxed style,” says Lauren Rosenau. “I chose our locations according to their personalities, and knew a lot of clean lines with a pop of color would really embrace their personalities and allow them to feel comfortable.”
The best part for the bride: Collaborating with four of her favorite women. “Erin [Ashley] made me look all glam and pretty, Crystal [Jackson] did wonders on my hair and came to the shoot for constant touch-ups, Megan Orrell [owner of Scout and Molly’s] gave me some wonderful outfits, and Lauren captured it all through her amazing eye!”
