Mint Museum Celebrates Women of Vision

Exhibition runs March 29-July 20

Nujood Ali, center, was a child bride who divorced her husband in Yemen. Stephanie Sinclair’s photo of her will be part of the Women of Vision exhibition at the Mint Museum.

An exhibition celebrating the work of 11 extraordinary photojournalists visits the Mint Museum uptown March 29 through July 20. Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment uses photos, audio, and video to take viewers from the Arctic Circle to a hospital room in Vietnam to a bedroom in Miami.

“My dream is to have a little bitty knapsack,” says Lynn Johnson, one of the photographers whose work will be displayed. She would pack a camera and a studio recorder and go around the world listening to both sides of divisive stories—stories not unlike the ones she has been photographing for the past 35 years.
