This Thursday’s edition of Alive After Five at the EpiCentre celebrates the kickoff of football season.

I’m a Leo, so I’m happy to see my zodiac month is off to an eventful start. No need to live only for the weekend—get out and enjoy some of these parties and social events this week. (Check back Thursday on Dusk Till Dawn for a list of this weekend’s events.)

Monday, August 6

SIPP: Service Industry Patio Party (weekly event)
Party with your favorite bartender on his/her night off. Play games such as beer pong, cornhole, and flip cup, while enjoying drink specials like $2 domestic draft, $3 vodka, and $4 ice & gold shots. Monday Night Mic Fights

Project Tuesday
The McDevitt Agency, one of Charlotte’s leading real estate firms, puts on this after-work social every other month. There'll be models showcasing the latest fashion and styles from Revolution boutique and Re Salon, a DJ playing your favorite tunes, and photographers on hand so come camera-ready. First Tuesdays with CMBCC
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce presents this monthly event, an evening of business networking and relationship building. This installment is being hosted by Pride Magazine. Parade of Power
Charlotte Motor Speedway will roll out its fall season of speed with a parade from Concord Mills Mall, running along Bruton Smith Boulevard, and ending at the speedway’s Avenue of Flags. This event will highlight the upcoming races taking place at the speedway, zMAX Dragway, and The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Fans will enjoy the Powerade Play Zone, which includes the Fan Van, face painters, and a bounce house, along with live music, and inexpensive refreshments. NASCAR and NHRA drivers, including Joey Logano, Erica Enders, and Doug Herbert, will take part in the event, and they’ll hold an autograph session and driver Q&A following the parade. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; parade begins at noon. Pop Life: X-Rated Edition
Uptown’s largest, weekly Wednesday night party turns into “Fantasy Island” this night, with special guests Gigi Maguire, the renowned pole dancing instructor from Atlanta, and Magic City dancer Virgo. Music by DJ Sense. Also, the first two hours of the night will feature a complimentary tasting of X-Rated Fusion Vodka accompanied with heavy hors d’oeuvres by Sadie's Soulful Southern Experience. This week’s AA5 celebrates the start of football season, inviting fans of the Carolina Panthers, SEC, ACC, the soon to be Charlotte 49ers, and any other sports teams. Wear your team colors for free draft beer 5-7 p.m., and there’ll be giveaways all night at the social media headquarters including local sports memorabilia.
