New Concept for Uptown

Essex Bar and Bistro will begin construction any day

New restaurant openings always make me more excited than they probably should. Recently, the Charlotte Business Journal reported on the construction that should be beginning any day on the corner of Trade and Tryon for a new culinary stop on the uptown list. Essex Bar and Bistro is, at the moment, set to be finished and ready for excited eaters by the end of this summer, provided there are no delays. 

If the restaurant does open and is finished as scheduled, according to the Journal, the Essex Bar and Bistro will feature outdoor seating, 170 seats, and an eclectic mix of menu offerings ranging from Mediterranean to Mexican. The owners of the new venture are Peter Lloyd and Erez Sukarchi, who also own and operate Enso Asian Bar and Sushi in uptown. The restaurant will open on to the plaza, perfect, since most of the eatery will be glassed in.
