New Farmers Markets

Two new farmers markets are coming to Charlotte. The first one, will only be an Earth Day market and will occur on April 22nd at the Ritz-Carlton. The second, Pickles Farmers Market in NoDa, will (hopefully) soon be a permanent fixture in the city’s farmers market scene.
The Earth Day Famers Market will be next to uptown’s Ritz-Carlton hotel on College Street just north of Trade Street. The market, which will go from 11 am to 2 pm will include several local farmers including Glen-finished pork, sweet potatoes, and radishes from Charlene’s Garden Farm, as well as dill, Swiss chard, arugula, and mixed greens from Holla Holler Farm. Plus, there will be tasty local products like Kudzu Queen Blossom Jelly from Kudzu Konnection Farm.
In NoDa, the new Pickles Farmers Market will be opening soon on Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm. (They’re still looking for vendors and will announce an opening date soon.) The market will be opening in the Hart Witzen Gallery on 36th Street at first and then eventually into a 9,000 square foot space across the street. Interested in being a vendor? Or know someone who might be? Go to the market’s Web site to sign up.
