It happened today at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, and it's very, very ugly

The school resource officer in the above clip—shown placing a supposedly disruptive female student at Spring Valley High in Columbia in a headlock and then dragging and throwing her—is Ben Fields, who has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending a Richland County Sheriff’s Office investigation. Fields also is listed as the school football team’s defensive line and strength and conditioning coach.

As this explodes over the Internet, you will undoubtedly encounter some people—they’re already out there—who defend or even applaud the officer’s actions. Avoid them. There’s no justification for this. None.
