NY Times Best Selling Author to Speak at Library Fundraiser

Dorotha Benton Frank, who has penned 14 novels including the New York Time's best selling book Sullivan's Island, will speak at a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library fundraiser Monday, June 17.

The South Carolina native will read from selections of her latest book The Last Original Wife and answer questions from the audience. Frank's smart, light hearted books are great summer reading, and her years on the public speaking circuit have left her with a quiver full of funny and well-honed stories.

Tickets are $40 and go to support the libaries collections of books, music, movies and other items. The library system has endured several deep budget cuts over the last several years and fundraising has become an important part in refilling its coffers. Anyone who buys a ticket for the event will also get a copy of Frank's new book.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Playhouse in ImaginOn. Tickets can be purchased here or by calling 704-973-2828. Organizers expect tickets to sell quickly.
