Olde Mecklenburg Brewery celebrating Father's Day with special event

This Sunday is Father’s Day. Now that I’ve reminded you, if you’re scrambling for a last-minute gift or looking for something unique, head over to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, which is celebrating Dad all day with a couple of events.
First, OMB is giving away a 6-pack of choice on Sunday to the first 100 fathers who show up with their children (Note: Olde Mecklenburg opens at 11 a.m.). The brewery is also preparing two special Father’s Day entrees for $27 each.
The first is a 10-ounce slow-roasted prime rib, which comes with au jus and horseradish cream on the side along with smashed red potatoes and a summer vegetable medley. The other choice is two pan-seared crab cakes served with low country sauce along with grilled asparagus and smashed red potatoes. No reservations will be taken, and you’ll only be able to order the special entrees in the Brahaus.
Finally, Olde Mecklenburg is running a mini-contest for Father’s Day. If you go on OMB’s Facebook page, on the most recent post you can write in why your dad is the best person to share a local beer with. The best entry will win a Father’s Day dinner at the Brauhaus Sunday along with a mixed case of OMB bottles.
