Out with a Bang

Gay BINGO is going out with a two-night bang
Chris Edwards

Pull out your feather boa and sequins. In honor of its ten-year anniversary and, sadly, its final event, Gay BINGO is putting on a two-night, diva-filled celebration. Aside from the men in heels, “Single Ladies” dance routines (a highlight last year), and raffle prizes, the series, which benefits RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network) and is produced by Friends of RAIN, has raised more than $700,000 for Charlotte’s largest HIV-AIDS nonprofit over the last decade. The show (and we do mean show) is led by the vivacious Diva of Ceremonies, Miss Shelita Hamm. Go to see twenty wig-adorned BVDs (BINGO Verifying Divas) dance the night away to the Glee-themed event. $30 (includes parking). November 12-13. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
