Parting Shot

Mint Museum uptown, November 20, 2010

“I love to pull my brides and grooms out of the reception for some romantic and dramatic shots. When I saw this sculpture [at the Mint Museum], it floored me. I’m an avid lover of glass, and to see this massive, colorful artwork, made up of more than 800 pieces of glass, I knew this photo was going to be breathtaking. I positioned Katie and Geoff in front of the sculpture and created a silhouette with their bodies, to let the colors envelop them. The results were more than I could have hoped for. I think, as a photographer, I am always striving to create something really exciting and dynamic, and this photo does just that. I adore it!” —Tara Mauldin
