Planned Parenthood, Kay Hagan and Common Party at the Democratic National Convention

Convention goers streamed onto the streets of downtown Charlotte Tuesday night, eager to party after a series of speeches that riled up the base.
First stop after Michelle Obama's appearance in the arena was the packed party for the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, called "Sex, Politics, and Cocktails." This was just one of a series of events this week aimed at mobilizing young female voters.
On the menu: A drink called "safe sex" and free condoms in pink wrappers that read "Protect Yourself from Romney & Ryan." The gathering felt very Sex and the City, as the DJ played Madonna and twenty-something women in dresses sipped pink cocktails.
SPOTTED: Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood; actresses Aisha Taylor and Ashley Judd; North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan; and House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who wore a white pants suit and stopped by long enough to address the crowd. "Women have the most to gain and the most to lose if [President Obama] does not win," she said, closing with: "Let's just win, baby!"
Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) threw an exclusive invite-only bash at the The Fillmore, where Jermaine Durpi was scheduled to spin and Common performed.
Internet start-up BuzzFeed threw a party at Discovery Place, where top journalists from the New York Times, Reuters, Huffington Post, Bloomberg, Politico, Slate, National Journal, the, The New Republic and The Boston Globe mingled among themselves.
SPOTTED in their midst: Dan Pfeiffer, White House Communications Director; Neera Tanden, President of Center for American Progress; and Chris Hughes, formerly of Facebook and now the owner of The New Republic.
Down the street at RiRa, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley played a set with his band, O'Malley's March. Listen to the music here, or just check out O'Malley's "guns." Who knew?
