Poll: The Kenan Gay Trial

The murder trial of Kenan Gay has become national news over the past few weeks, with people across the country debating the former UNC football player’s role in the death of Robert Kingston. In Charlotte, it's a top conversation at lunch tables and coffee meetings all over town.

On March 3, 2012, Gay and Kingston were both in Ed’s Tavern in Dilworth. That night, UNC beat Duke in men’s basketball to claim the ACC regular season championship. Just after the game ended, around 10:30 p.m., Kingston apparently tried to kiss Gay’s girlfriend. Gay then put his hands on Kingston’s back and neck and pushed him out of the bar. Four witnesses say they saw Gay push Kingston into Park Road, according to a Charlotte Observer story from the trial last week. There, a passing car hit Kingston and killed him. Gay says he never intended to hurt Kingston.

Closing arguments ended Wednesday, and the case is in the hands of the jury. A verdict could come soon. We'd like to know:
