Preview: Bar Marcel in SouthPark, From the Team Behind Vivace

Bar Marcel is the latest restaurant to open in SouthPark, and last night the team hosted a Sip and See for guests to preview drinks and hors d’oevres from the new menu. The restaurant will serve a mix of small plates, house-made pastas, and larger entrees inspired by Italian, French, and Spanish cuisines.

Bar Marcel is the tenth restaurant from Stacey and Kevin Jennings, the husband-and-wife team who own Vivace and Civetta Italian Kitchen + Bar. Chef de Cuisine Mike Cruz treated guests to his truffle goat cheese stuffed dates, wagyu beef carpaccio, and a mix of flatbread pizzas.

The restaurant sits in the space formerly occupied by Another Broken Egg in Morrison at SouthPark. The newly renovated interior features an open floor plan with leather booths, high top tables, and a courtyard patio. In addition to the 15-seat bar at the front of the restaurant, there’s a five-seat pizza bar in back where guests can watch Chef Cruz bake his flatbread pizzas in the 515-degree wood fired oven.

Other menu items will include a charcuterie board, beet & burrata salad, truffle & herb frittes, Valencianna paella, and a fish of the day. The bar will have an extensive wine list, cocktails, Spanish beer on tap, and house-made limoncello. The restaurant plans to open later this month.
