Raise Your Glass for Thomas Street Tavern
Charlotte has a fine collection of quality neighborhood pubs, but arguably the finest is Plaza-Midwood’s Thomas Street Tavern. It’s in an old post office in a great ‘hood, it has a great jukebox, it has pool and Ping-Pong, it features an eclectic cast of regulars and semiregulars, and the food is, well, decent. Esquire magazine likes it, too. Thomas Street Tavern (which is actually on Thomas Avenue–the owner just thought “Street” had a better ring to it) made its list of Best Bars In America. Right now–right this very minute–people at TST are drinking to that (whether they know it or not). Cheers!
