Christina Economos, born and raised in Charlotte, not only knew that she wanted her wedding to be in her hometown, but what church it should be in—the same one her parents had wed in years before, the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. With the bride’s mother in Charlotte, the Raleigh-based couple looked to her to help with the arrangements. At the ceremony, Christina and Sean Flaherty were wed by not one priest, but three—the head priest, the bride’s priest from childhood, and the bride’s uncle. Family was also incorporated into the bride’s accessories, which included jewelry passed down from her grandmother and a bouquet made by her mother decorated with the veil from her own wedding. The Fillmore was the spot for the reception where, in honor of the bride’s heritage, Greek music played and guests sampled cuisine made by the bride’s family and friends. For the 275-person reception dinner, candles lit the room while everyone enjoyed a menu prepared by Signature Meals. Outside, the amphitheater stage surprised guests with Moroccan-themed décor and a cigar lounge (cigar roller included).  The night didn’t end without one more touch of tradition—a dessert bar topped with Greek pastries handmade by the bride’s grandmother.
