When it came to décor, the couple kept it simple—they didn’t want to take away from the natural ambiance of the quarry at Carrigan Farms.

We wanted the guests to feel completely relaxed,” says Shaelyn Moloney-Egnatios about her outdoor wedding celebration to David McCarthy. And the couple couldn’t have picked a more tranquil setting for their 140 guests: the ceremony was held on a white-sand section of the quarry at Carrigan Farms, surrounded by a breathtaking backdrop of gray granite cliffs towering seventy feet above. Shaelyn, who wore a jeweled mermaid gown from Priscilla of Boston and carried a calla lily bouquet from Willow Branch Flowers, walked down the petal-covered aisle to meet David, who sported a silk khaki suit from Men’s Wearhouse. The sun may have been setting as the ceremony wrapped up, but the party was just starting. For cocktail hour, guests walked over to a grassy area near a reflecting pool of spring water, where they were greeted with hors d’oeuvres and signature Southern June Bug drinks served in mason jars. Then the group moved under a canopied tent with sparkling lights to their tables, set with willow branches and raspberry-colored orchid blooms. But the most memorable moment came later, when guests lit and released 100 sky lanterns into the moonlight after making a wish for the newlyweds. “Everyone was in awe watching the lanterns float away,” says the bride. “In a way, it brought everyone together."
