Real Weddings: Melissa & Jarian
December 10,2011: Mint Museum Uptown
Melissa Nunnally, a physical therapist, and Jarian Kerekes, senior director of marketing for Michael Waltrip Racing, planned an elegant and relaxing December wedding celebration. Event planner Katrina Hutchins of come+together helped this laid-back couple throw a wedding weekend that showcased their favorite Charlotte haunts, with a rehearsal dinner at Vida and a meet-up at Strike City, culminating in a romantic ceremony and reception at The Mint Museum Uptown with Southern cuisine by Something Classic. Breathtaking in Liancarlo lace, Melissa met Jarian for an intimate first look and photos. The ceremony was deeply personal, featuring the couple’s favorite song, “Be Mine” by David Gray, and handwritten vows to be “my constant friend, my faithful partner, and my love.” The bride’s bouquet of garden roses from The Place for Flowers was adorned with tiny, framed photos of her beloved grandmothers, while her sister and stepsisters stood beside her dressed in BCBG. The newlyweds enjoyed dinner alone together before being introduced for their first dance with music from the Swinging Richards. To accompany a photo booth from Audio To Go, Jarian surprised Melissa with hilarious cutouts of his and Melissa’s faces (and their beagle’s). No one wanted to leave, even after sending the bride and groom off to their Hawaiian honeymoon in a cloud of bubbles.
