Real Weddings: Melissa & Nick
April 28, 2012: Asbury Park Grove
It all started with a softball game. Nick Mucciarone’s company softball team needed an extra player, and Melissa Woods was happy to oblige. A year passed before the pair began dating, and after being together for two years, Nick proposed.
The couple chose a picturesque gazebo at Asbury Park Grove as the setting for their eclectic springtime wedding celebration. This old-fashioned couple wanted to do it up vintage, so the wedding included a variety of burlap and lace decorations for a rustic, antique feel. The bride paired her strapless Hayden Olivia Bridal gown, tied with a silk cream-colored bow, with a vintage headpiece from Etsy shop Bella’s Boutique. An “old school” candy buffet, including everything from Razzles and Wax Lips to Boston Baked Beans, led guests to the reception. The reception also featured decorative details made by the bride’s mother: paper flowers, a hanging photo collage, and props for a photo booth.
Although Melissa loved the way her wedding looked, her favorite moment was much more personal. She says she’ll never forget the incredible feeling of walking down the aisle with Nick as they prepared to celebrate the start of their lives together.
