Some of the items in this year's Neiman Marcus Love to Give Collection.

Ballerinas, cookies and milk, and holiday cheer greeted me at a preview of the 2015 Neiman Marcus Love to Give Collection on November 4. This carefully curated holiday collection features gifts, priced between $10 and $300, from the likes of Jonathan Adler, Yves Saint Laurent, Nest, Eddie Borgo, and Dannijo to name a few. From now until December 24, ten percent of the sales generated from the items in this collection will benefit Community School of the Arts.

Neiman Marcus is committed to supporting youth arts education and does so through their national corporate giving program, “Heart of Neiman Marcus.” During the holiday season, each of the 41 Neiman Marcus stores selects an art-based program in their area to support. This year, the Charlotte Neiman Marcus store, located in SouthPark Mall, selected Community School of the Arts as their beneficiary.

Community School of the Arts is a nonprofit committed to providing arts education to all children regardless of economic status. Art programs, workshops, music lessons, and day camps are hosted in various locations across Mecklenburg County, including churches, recreation centers, and even uptown’s Spirit Square.

Holiday cheer was in the air at the event as student dancers from the Charlotte Ballet Academy performed dances from The Nutcracker. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres from Delectables by Holly while learning about Community School for the Arts. Guests browsed the gifts and many made purchases. As one guest commented, “Why not purchase a gift for a loved one that also gives back to a great organization?” I agree—why not?
